You Don't Need Blood to Make a Family.

On Saturday night, I met up with my
friends and family to celebrate my best friend, Erica's birthday.
She's one of the three of us, refer to this post.

Let me begin by saying this, when I was young, my family moved around
a lot. I mean, different school every year type of 'a lot'.
However, when I went to high school, it was the first school I
had been to for multiple years - four whole years - in one place!
I've never had a childhood friend who I grew up with,
you know the kind "our moms were best friends, and we grew up together,
and our kids are best friends," hoopty freaking doo!
So when I was taken in by the Watson and Cotten families, I was overwhelmed.
It was refreshing, awkward, and annoying all at once.
But now the friendship, sisterhood almost, is going on 7 years now.
And I couldn't have asked for better gal's to call up in the middle of the night,
to travel with, to laugh and love with, or to grow with.

So in high spirits, we all got together here in Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon,
where line dancing, loud music, good food and lots of memories are held.
That's how Nashville does....

The birthday girl in the middle, Kyle, Ryan and Amber, who
makes up part of my little family.

So any chance that everyone can get together, is the ultimate high for me.
I usually take a little moment to myself and just look at the people around me and
give a little thank you to the big man upstairs.
These people are my friends, but most importantly, they're my family.
