The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

There's a reason it's the most wonderful time of the year.
Not only is it the most family oriented holiday, it all comes down to
the nip in the air, the little twinkles of light you catch out the corner of your
eye, and being transported into a time and aesthetic that you can't be apart of any
other time of year.

I realized a few years ago that I most likely was a
Christmas elf in a past life.
There's no other way to explain me.

Best Coast and Wavves - Got Something for You

Now, last weekend the family loaded up and went to
You drive your car through all the lights and get out
to meet Santa in the end....

On the two pictures above, my camera was on the fritz for some reason.
But I still love how they turned out!

But why would I show you it all at once?
Ha!

This week is the start of finals week at school,

delicious looking recipe.

I find this little gadget to be pretty pretty neat.
I didn't know it existed to be honest.
It's attachable lenses for you iPhone,

I would still give the site a look over.
You never know what interesting things you will find
there. Ahem-like I just did.

Everyone have a great week, and send some
prayers this way to keep my sanity!

Gracious is my Soul.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I realize I am typing this on Friday. I've just
made a hot cup of coffe, popped in a movie and kicked my
stuffed tummy back. I got off of work at 9 this morning - yeah,
I worked midnight to to 9 this year - yeah. Oh boy.

But just like every year, I see hundreds of families come through
my store and I think of my own.
And I'm so thankful for them.

I'm so lucky to have this amazing life that God has given me.
He has given me a beautiful body that is unique in it's own way.
Then he placed people in my life to work for him,
like my mom and my sister.
My mother gave me the proper nutrition and education we needed.
I'm so thankful for my education and to live in a country and household
where I can be what ever I please.

Everything from my kitty cat, my puppy dog, and my garden gnome.
I am thankful for all of the amazing little rays of light that make my life
the amazing life worth living.

I'm not rich, famous, or bionic.
I'm humbled.

Every one have a blessed holiday.

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving.

Another holiday come so soon?
I'm loving it!
My sister and niece came to town,
so this time everyone got to go out and do
holiday related activities as a family- instead of just sitting around
skyping eachother.

I, of course, did some baking:

Blueberry muffins with cinnamon sugar crumble.
Recipe here.

Non frosted chocolate cupcakes with a cream cheese surprise.
Recipe here.
(I did mine with out the strawberries)

On Monday, my mom cooked up a mini-thanksgiving, with just the immediate
family.
And Belle made an appearance.....

Binx was teased with this hot and juicy turkey for about 15 minutes.
Just for this shot. However, he still got a bone to gnaw on for a little while.

And we also went to see The Rockettes.

So yes. Just some good ol' fashioned family fun.
And the Holiday hasn't even officially started yet.

Oh- and P.S. Arthur Christmas is hilarious!

Everyone have a lovely Thanksgiving!

Fuel for the Week.

how come you never go there - Feist

So I was perusing over at Urban Outfitters Blog, and saw
these beautiful head pieces from ban.do's holiday collection.
And it doesn't stop with the hair pieces.
I'll let you go and choose your favorite :)

I love the photographer  Irina Werning. Especially
the bit called, Back to the Future.
So smart and cute and funny.
I got to go get those old childhood photos of mine
and attempt my own.....

I started my Christmas shopping this week, so I
could think of no better place to find gift wrapping ideas than
pintrest. And ahoy! This idea was perfect.

Two More Because I Feel Like It.

Hold On - The Postelles

Get Gone - White Arrows

Fuel for the Week.

Piranhas Club by Man Man

I'm currently reading this book from A. J. Jacobs.
It's a witty a incredibly enlightening book
about a generally agnostic man, who decides to dedicate an entire
year to living strictly by the bible.
I'm just proud he can take the words God and
ZZ top and make a decent sentence about it.

How cool is this idea?
There's something relaxing about watching
the paint fall.
Now, where to put such a structure in my own
space......

These are just a few of the incredible photos that I
found browsing at The Atlantic's website.
They posted the link to National Geographic's photo contest that
just came out. I highly suggest going to the actual site to
see the pictures in their full glory.

Swooning Over Here.

So the other night I was scanning through
some late night tv.
And I stumbled upon this adorable movie,

It was great! And honestly, if it doesn't have James Dean in
it, I'm usually not interested.
But there was one little actress that caught my eye:
A young Jane Powell!
She definitely made the movie, and now I'm on a quest to
see the rest of her stuff.
(If only I could have been a Hollywood movie mogul in
the '50's.....She'd without a doubt be in a movie with Mr. Dean....)

She is just so classy and has so much personality!

Ah, well that is all for now folks.
Swoon away!
