What an Adorable Friday.

I wasn't planning on posting today,
but through the magical world of facebook, alas,
I came across the cutest video.
Owls.
Yeah, you're welcome.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Davy.

This just can't be happening!
I woke up to the tornado sirens going off on campus
and take shelter warnings,
so I guess it's only right that this news would come to me.
Davy Jones was (besides Eric from the Little Mermaid)
my first crush.

Me and my sister would sleep together on their re-run nights,
set the alarm clock to 3 a.m. so we could get up to see The Monkees.

Sigh.

Style Crush.

I can't believe I didn't think of her AGES ago.
I am gladly accepting that Alexa Chung is my style crush,
and a crush she will always be.
This girl......

The perfect mixture of boyish, girly, rock and lace.
My goodness gracious. She's good.

Just a Bunch of Strutters.

It's no secret that KISS is my favorite band.
And it just so happened that a Kiss tribute band was playing at
The Mercy Lounge on Saturday night, and I got myself downtown quick!

My ears are still ringing.
Amazeballs.

A Headbanger's Christmas - the Best Kind of Christmas.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this video this morning.
This is exactly what inspired Spandex Summer!
Spandex, big hair, and well, a theme.

Even if you're not in to Ozzy Osbourne, you can still
get a laugh from him!
Watch him and Zakk Wylde on Headbanger's Christmas.

P.S. Can someone PLEASE bring back Headbanger's Ball?!
And on regular cable too?

Swooning Over Here.

So the other night I was scanning through
some late night tv.
And I stumbled upon this adorable movie,

It was great! And honestly, if it doesn't have James Dean in
it, I'm usually not interested.
But there was one little actress that caught my eye:
A young Jane Powell!
She definitely made the movie, and now I'm on a quest to
see the rest of her stuff.
(If only I could have been a Hollywood movie mogul in
the '50's.....She'd without a doubt be in a movie with Mr. Dean....)

She is just so classy and has so much personality!

Ah, well that is all for now folks.
Swoon away!

Swooning Over Here.

So last week, my mother and I
ventured over to Springfield, Tennessee to eat lunch at one of
our faveorite places, Burdett's Tea Shop.

It's full of whimsy and classic southern charm.

Take a peek!

Their food is fresh and refreshing, their tea is so good!
But their desserts.....oh man. Their DESSERTS!
Bad thing I do not live close or else I could be in
sweet sweet heaven.

Swooning Over Here.

So as I mentioned in this post, Courtney and
I attented the Fall festival in Gallatin.

And one of the best things that we stumbled upon
happened to be this adorable little store called

It was like stepping in to a movie set!
The store has incredible home decorations,
at an incredible price!

So enough talking from me, and get to looking!

Layers upon layers of great finds.
I could spend hours in there.
I could live there.
I want to live there.

You can also visit their facebook page.

Swooning Over Here.

Ok, so my love and fascination with
James Dean
is nothing new.
So, when I stumble upon little nuggets
like this golden one I just found sends me over the moon:

This is from INTERVIEW magazine,
and it features Dennis Hopper's interview on
his first meeting with Mr. Dean.

SHAFRAZI: How did you first meet James Dean?

HOPPER: I was walking down a hallway at Warner’s. I was on my way back to Nick’s office with my agent, Robert Raison. You’ve got to understand, Hollywood, at this time, was all suits and ties. These guys were old-school gentlemen. They smoked cigars, but they were gentlemen. Suddenly I see this guy walking toward me in a turtleneck and dirty Levi’s. He looked like he had five days’ growth, and his hair was all messed up. As we walked by, my agent said, “That’s James Dean.” I’d just seen him in East of Eden, but I didn’t even recognize him. So I had my meeting with Nick, and then I went to the drugstore across the street from Warner’s, and Dean was sitting at the counter. He had a cup of coffee and sugar, and he was pouring the sugar on the spoon until it got to be heaping, and then he would watch it dissolve in the coffee, and then he’d pour another one. He was doing this over and over. He wasn’t talking to anybody. Raison said, “Let me introduce you.” So we went up, and he said, “Jimmy, this is Dennis Hopper. He’s going to be in the movie with you.” But Dean never stopped. Never looked around.

SHAFRAZI: He kept pouring the sugar.

HOPPER: He just kept pouring the sugar and letting it dissolve in the cup. But here’s what was really important, which has taken me a long time to digest: I had never seen anyone improvise before. I really did think at that point that I was the best young actor in the world. And then I’m on set, and the first thing we’re doing is the scene in Rebel at the police station, where he gets arrested. And suddenly, Dean starts making siren sounds. When they search him, he starts to laugh because it’s tickling him, and I’m thinking, “Where the hell is this on the page? Where is this coming from, man?” I’d never seen anyone improvise before. Because I was a Shakespearean actor, I had preconceived ideas, line readings—everything was a gesture, everything was conscious.

BRANT: It was disciplined.

HOPPER: Yeah. But in Method acting, you can’t have preconceived ideas. You have to live in the moment. You have to keep yourself open. I was totally on the other side of the track. In point of fact, Harry Cohn did have something to say. [laughs]

BRANT: I remember you telling me a story about filming a scene with Dean and Elizabeth Taylor when you were making Giant.

HOPPER: We were working on Giant, and we’re out in the middle of Texas. It was a scene that takes place just before Dean discovers oil on his land, where Elizabeth Taylor comes by and he makes tea for her. It’s the first time Dean has ever acted with her. But even though we’re out in the desert in Marfa, there are a thousand people watching us film behind a rope. It’s a scene where Dean has a rifle on his back. He brings her in and makes her tea, and then, suddenly, he stops. And he walks a couple hundred feet away to where these people are watching us, and in front of all of them, he pulls out his dick and pisses.

SHAFRAZI: In front of them?

HOPPER: Facing them, with his back to the set. Then he comes back in and does the scene. So, later, we’re driving back to Marfa, and I said, “Jimmy, I’ve seen you do a lot of strange things, man, but you really did it today. What was that all about?” He said, “It was Elizabeth Taylor. I can’t get over my farm-boy upbringing. I was so nervous that I couldn’t speak. I had to pee, and I was trying to use that, but it wasn’t working. I thought that if I could go pee in front of all those people, I would be able to work with her.” [all laugh]

Goodnight Dennis.
Goodnight Elizabeth.
Goodnight James.
Goodnight Moon.
Goodnight Cameron jumping over the Moon.

I found this on Julian Casablancas website.

God Bless Mother Nature, She's a Single Woman Too.

Ahh, here I am, the eve of my 20th birthday, and I'm locked down with rainy weather.
But at least it's warm out. Somewhat.
And the mugginess gives me a healthy slice of the Georgia Coast, where I call home.
So, I'm taking this damp night and making the best of it.

First off, this is the song I woke up singing, which I'm glad it was a good one. It's usually something like the Green Acres tune, or Love Gun by Kiss.

Man oh man. I can't get enough of these mega-hunks.
They have the perfect summer jams.
I highly suggest you listen to more.

Also, I'm definitely heating it up with this guy:

Oh yesyesyes. With tissues readily available and multiple layers for James Dean induced hot flashes, I snuggled down and had no problem tuning in to this classic.

Hubba Hubba.

Now, with the weather broadcast alerts popping up in the middle of my daily Sex and the City fix, I started nosing around on the fab-u-lous Urban Outfitters Blog, and found this incredible link called pinepoint.nfb.ca.
It's the website dedicated to what happened to the town called Pine Point, and how it no longer exists.
"Imagine your hometown never changed,
that no one ever grew old or moved on."

It's an incredible, ingenious, and bone chilling site!

So, with this rainy night underway, it's just a natural thing for me to sing this song:

Here's to leaving your umbrella's at home!
