Another Year Wiser.

My birthday was a few weeks ago.
We went to eat at one of my favorite restaurants, filled
with old antiques and chipping brick walls... and good
food of course!

This is one of the many chandeliers in the joint.
Pretty sure it's the size of my bedroom.

After dinner we took a lovely stroll around
Nashville.
Ahhhh I love this town.

Style Crush.

Ohhhh so I have a good one for you today!

Today is Brigitte Bardot's birthday!
I really have always admired her,
the blonde bombshell she is!

"I am all right when I work. I am not superficial and I am not ungrateful,"

"What could be more beautiful than a dear old lady growing
wise with age? Every age can be enchanting, provided you live within it."

"I never do anything by chance."

Ah, such an incredible woman.
The style, the hair, ahg!
I found my project for the day.....

Happy Birthday Brig!

Qui qu'a vu Coco?

Another Birthday Babe!
Coco Chanel.
How does one describe how important
she was and still is in this world?
Words cannot express.
So here's a birthday shout out
to this beautiful, brilliant woman!

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

"Fashion fades, only style remains the same."

"Success is often achieved by those who don't
know that failure is inevitable."

"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different."

-------

Also, it just so happens that the September issure of Glamour gave
a little tribute of their own, in which they listed a few interesting
facts on Coco:

"The interlocking C's don't just stand for Coco Chanel.
They're also the combined initials of Chanel and her lover 'Boy' Capel, who
died in a car accident..."

"To build mystique for Chanel No. 5, Chanel would give the fragrance
to notable women, then claim she didn't have anymore - increasing the
demand for it."

"Chanel...is credited with raising hemlines, loosening waistlines and
popularizing tans."

"Chanel's real first name was Gabrielle; 'Coco' came from her
days as a cabaret performer, and the song 'Qui qu'a vu Coco dans I'Trocadero?'
('Who's seen Coco in the Trocadero?')"
And I bring to you said song here:

Ont une merveilleuse journée!

Is That a Gun in Your Pocket?

I was reading my daily horoscope, when
I scrolled down to view birthdays on this day.
And one name stood out to me:
Mae West.
As long as I can remember, I have known
of this fiery, opinionated, actress.
I've always looked up to her strong personality
and the way she embraced who she was inside
and out. Not afraid to shake her hips
or taunt with her words, she undoubtedly meant what she said, and
did what she said. There is no mistaking in seeing
her envelope herself for nothing less than pure spirit and certainly breaking apart
from the crowd.
And for that, I thank her.

So I felt it only fair to give her a little
more spotlight.
It is her birthday after all!

The trailer for "I'm No Angel"

"I like my clothes to be tight enough to show I'm
a woman....but loose enough to show I'm
a lady."

"It's better to be looked over, than overlooked."

"Those who are easily shocked....
should be shocked more often."

"Too much of a good thing can
be wonderful."

You can read more about Mae West on her official website.

Style Crush.

Well, more than a crush on style,
more like, whole-body-jealousy.
Stevie Nicks!!

Plus, what better day to post this,
it's her birthday!

Gosh, I just lovelovelove
me some Stevie Nicks.
Every picture I'm amazed at her beauty;
every song I'm amazed by her voice

"I think they all went too far. Their jeans got too low, their tops got too see-through. Personally, I think that sexy is keeping yourself mysterious. I'm really an old-fashioned girl, and I think I'm totally sexy."

"I am pretty fearless, and you know why? Because I don't handle fear very well; I'm not a good terrified person."

Gah, even the hair!

She's still so beautiful!

"I was not going to be a stupid girl singer. I was going to be way more than that."
